The End of Wanderings

This episode takes place at the end of the summer, Meiji Year 11. It had been half a year since Kenshin came to live at Kamiya Doujou. Kenshin and Kaoru went somewhere to visit a grave I don’t know where it is, but they used a boat to get there. Afterwards they went to the beach and got caught in the rain. They couldn’t go back to Tokyo because of the weather and stayed at a local’s home.

Yahiko were helping Tae for that day. He helped clean the tables and do various chores. And he wore an apron!!!! Sano were having his right hand checked by Megumi and stayed there to get a free lunch. But Megumi, foxy woman she is, made him cut firewood afterwards in order to get his dinner. While Sano was bathing, Megumi took his clothes and washed them, but she didn’t tell him what she had done, leaving Sano madly searching for them.

Kenshin and Kaoru slept in the same room, and Kaoru felt so distant from Kenshin although they had known each other for half a year. Kaoru had a nightmare that Kenshin left to become a Rurouni again. Waking up, she found Kenshin gone. She ran to the beach and found Kenshin there and fell into his arms. Kenshin gave her a seashell and when Kaoru’s hand touched his, there was a flashback from episodes before of the two of them, especially during the Kyoto Arc. Kenshin and Kaoru returned to Tokyo with the first boat, and nearing the port, they saw everyone from Dr. Genzai to Suzume-chan waiting for them on top of the bridge.

Horinaka Tadashi brought them to the Kan-ei temple and told them they could build a formation to replace the broken formation. He instructed them on how to make it, using various objects and a big dragon statue to be the Ryu formation’s heart. Kenshin Gumi had arrived at Senjo Gahara and Jinpu went to fight Reisui by himself. It was a battle of supernatural powers, where in the end Reisui lost but sacrificed himself in order to preserve the formation. Tsunan and Kawaji tried to tell the Daijokan members to cancel their meeting but it didn’t worked. So they devised a plan where Tsunan’s bombs would be used to damage the Genrou-In a bit and the people there would be force to evacuate themselves, helped by the police. The Hisui crest was at the hands of Saeki, who wished to use it for himself so he could rule the country. As Sano tried to attack him, he used it and a piramid-like building appeared from beneath the earth, Saeki standing on top of it…
